Frequently Asked Questions

When is your campground open?

The campground is open from May through the end of September.  As a general rule the campground opens the first full weekend in May and is open through the last full weekend in September.

What do I need to reserve a campsite/rental unit?

When you make a reservation with the office or online, a credit card will be needed for the first night’s fees as a deposit for your reservation.  If you are reserving multiple sites, please be prepared to give a deposit for each site.  Checks may be used for deposits as long as they are received at least two weeks prior to your arrival.  We will also collect your personal information such as phone number, name, mailing address, email address and camping unit information (type and length).

How old do you have to be to reserve a site or rental unit?

To reserve you must be at least 21 years old.  There must also be an adult at least 21 years old here for the duration of the reservation.

How many people are allowed on a campsite?

There can be no more than four adults on a site and ten people total, including children.  Our rates include two adults, one camping unit and one vehicle.  Children under the age of 18 stay free.  You may have up to two additional adults stay on your site, in your camping unit, at a rate of $7 per adult per night.  There will be an additional $5 fee per night for an extra vehicle.  Day visitors are allowed, but must stop and obtain a visitor pass from the office.

Can I request a specific site number?

You are making a reservation for a specific site type and you may request a specific site number upon making the reservation.  However, we reserve the right to change your site number at any time, for any reason. While we guarantee your chosen site type and amenities, our automated optimization system may change your site location. You can guarantee your chosen site location by paying a nominal site lock fee of $10. Please inform the office at time of reservation if you are camping with a group and we will make every effort to keep your group together.

What is check-in/check-out time?

Check-in begins at 1:00pm for campsites and 3:00pm for rental units.  Check-out is any time before 12 noon for campsites and 11:00am for rental units.  In some instances an early check-in or late check-out may be available.  Please check with the office to see if these are available, as there may be other guests arriving to or departing from your site. Guests failing to abide by the check out time will be assessed a fee.  All rental checkouts after 12 pm will be charged half of the overnight rate until 5 PM.  All check outs after 5 PM will be charged the full overnight rate.

What is your cancellation policy?

You may cancel your campsite reservation up to 7 days prior to arrival to receive a refund of your deposit less a $25 fee.  You may cancel your rental unit reservation up to 30 days prior to arrival to receive a refund of your deposit less a $25 fee.  Cancellations within this time period will result in a forfeiture of the first night’s rate.  If you are within the cancellation period, you may change the date of the reservation one time to get full use of your deposit.  Refunds will not be given on any reservation whose date was changed within the cancellation period.  The only exception to this policy is that Wo-Zha-Wa has a 30 day cancellation period for ALL site types.  ALL deposits must be used in the same camping season in which the original reservation dates were made for.  Reservations with a deposit will be held until noon the next day at which time they will be canceled with no opportunity for a refund or change of dates.  We cannot be held responsible for weather, illness, work schedules or other matters affecting our guests and therefore must enforce the cancellation policy regardless of circumstances.

What about inclement weather?

Camping is an outdoor experience.  We are not responsible for the inconveniences of nature and the cancellation policy still applies.   If you are in the park and severe weather is imminent, while we do not have a true storm shelter, we suggest that you take cover in one of our enclosed buildings.  We will try our best to notify each campsite of any severe weather warnings.

Do you have quiet hours?

Yes.  We are a family campground and quiet hours are from 10pm until 7am daily.  Minors must be at their campsites during these hours. Please keep music at a reasonable level during the day. NO bike riding after dark. The playgrounds close at dusk.

Do your rental units have bathrooms in them?

Camping cottages do not have bathrooms in them. Cottage campers use the same restrooms as the other campers.

What do we need to bring if we are reserving a rental unit?

You need to bring any bedding (sleeping bags or sheets and blankets), cooking utensils and cookware, toiletries and towels that you may need for your stay.  Camping cottages have a mini fridge, microwave, pedestal grill and air conditioner. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring.

Do you have firewood for sale?

Yes.  Firewood is available for sale here at the camp store.  Per DNR regulations, you may not bring in any wood from outside the campground.  Scavenging for firewood and cutting of trees, dead or alive, is strictly prohibited and will result in eviction without refund and could also result in a fine for tree replacement costs. Additionally, no fire should be left unattended and it should be extinguished before retiring for the night.

Do you have ice for sale?

Yes. Ice is available for sale in the camp store.

Do you allow pets in the campground?

Pets are allowed on campsites.  All pets must be kept on a leash, cleaned up after and never left unattended at the campsite.  Pets of any kind are NOT allowed in rental units.  We can provide you with information about boarding facilities or doggy daycare at the time of reservation or upon arrival. We have a dog park area located near the pavilion. If you use the park, please pick up after your dog.

Do you have a pool?

Yes.  There is a 1500 sq. ft. pool and a 2500 sq. ft. splashpad.  The pool is heated to 80 degrees.  The pool and splashpad area are open from Memorial Day until Labor Day.  Weather permitting, we will try our best to open earlier or stay open later.  Please note: There is NO LIFEGUARD on duty at the pool. You are responsible for the behavior and safety of your children in the pool area. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children must be potty-trained to use the pool or use a swimmer diaper.

Your address doesn’t show up in our GPS.  Why?

Neither our previous address nor our current address work well in a GPS unit.  The previous address had two state highways as part of our address and from what we’ve heard GPS units won’t recognize two highways at the same time.  Our current address is so new that it hasn’t been recorded yet with the companies that own the GPS technology.  This is beyond our control.  You can use the address to the business behind us: 225 Pioneer Dr. Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965 or our coordinates: Latitude:43.631455
Longitude: -89.788857. Here are written directions:
